and it was a thriller night ..........

We had a blast tricking and treating on Halloween evening last Saturday.  Everyone was all devil-ish except Artus who disguised himself as an innocent little pumpkin.

Artus first ride on a bicycle

Auntie Nina - the Queen of cakes

I spent the whole day at Uncle Eddie and Auntie Nina's place today.  While mommy learned to bake with Auntie Nina, I watched, listened, and sometimes made noises.   The aromas of coffee, chocolate and freshly baked eclairs filled the air.   I have already tried a lot of mommy's bakings when I was inside her tummy and can't wait to eat some more when I am old enough!!!

Grandma & Auntie Judy

While papa and my big brother Artus are in France, I can finally enjoy some exclusive quality time with Grandma and Auntie Judy, I love listening to their small talks, they are so gentle and sweet to me!

August in France with Papa

Jojo and I

Having spent the afternoon running and chasing around the house, here I am chilling out with Jojo on the sofa.  She is visiting us all the way from Stanley!!

6 weeks old and all smiles

Hello everyone, my name is Alexis, Artus' little brother. I am six weeks old now, being in papa's warm embrace is just the best place a little baby like me can be!

In mummy and daddy's arms

Here is Alexis, my little brother

Today, 22nd of June I am proud to introduce you to Alexis, my little brother. Please join me in welcoming Alexis to our world.

From now on, Alexis will help me write this blog, it will become our blog.

While waiting for my little brother to arrive, mom and I spend every afternoon walking along the beach, enjoying the cooling water on our feet.

One month to go

I am impatient to welcome my little brother who is coming in one month. I am already giving him lots of hugs and kisses through mummy's belly. Stay tuned.

Cooking on a rainy Sunday

The weather has been terrible this weekend. It didn't stop raining so we spent a lot of time inside - cooking up a storm. Playing with the buttery tart dough is much more fun than with the smelly playdough (pate a modeler). Mummy even allowed me to lick the spoon, yeahhhhh.

My second 7s

My regular readers will remember I have been to the 7s last year. This year I am still too young for the South Stand so we choose the comfort of the corporate box to watch some fine rugby and cheer for the France and the Hong Kong teams.

While the other boys are climbing up and down the slides, I prefer to chat up older girls in the playground. Let me introduce you to Amelie from Crestmont, the girl next door...

My carz and me

Being a typical boy - I am loving all forms of cars, trucks and engines. Here's one which has got a secret compartment under the seat where I can keep my toys, dirty socks as well as mummy and daddy's personal items inside. It's so exciting to see them search frantically all over the house for things which they thought they have lost .....

I am offically Two Years Old!

I have officially turned 2 years old yesterday and I am feeling so very grown-up. Mommy and daddy have done up my room in time for my birthday - I am now sleeping in my Big Boy's Bed and I have loads of jungle animals to keep me company on the walls! My cot is now free waiting for my little brother to joins us in June, can't wait!

Here are a few snapshots of our fun celebration yesterday afternoon, we had a real blast!

Sunny February

We were at the Discovery Bay Golf Club for lunch today. The weather was fantastic and warm, I just wore a t-shirt, and this is February - yeah! I played a lot on the grass (not on the golf course) and took loads of sun.

Sunday in Peng Chau

We took a boat today to go to Peng Chau, a small island off the coast of Discovery Bay. There are no cars on the island and everybody walks or rides a bicycle. Personally, I toured around the island like a Prince in my pushchair. I occasionally had to walk, because daddy had difficulty with all the steps - the island is quite hilly. It took less than 2 hours to go around the island and we found some great beaches along the way. Here's one on which we played and took some great family pictures.

My second Christmas

I came back to Hong Kong after spending a week in France, celebrating Christmas with Grandpa, Mam and my 7 cousins. We celebrated Christmas again with mummy, Grandma, auntie Judy, uncle Eddie and auntie Nina. I had loads of presents to open - see how happy I am.

O Christmas Tree

Today we took out the Christmas tree and decorations down from the attic. I decorated the tree with the help of Papa. My favourites are the small red balls and I prefer to put three on the same branch.

Big Buddha here we come

We had a great day out today visiting the Big Buddha with auntie Clemence who comes to see me all the way from France. In the cable car we can see lots of beautiful landscape of one of the greenist parts of Hong Kong, with hiking trails cris-crossing all over Lantau Island. We saw a lot of boats in the sea and lots of jumbo jets taking off and landing at the airport just nearby.

Learning to draw

Papa painted my new table and chairs. I use them everyday now. Since Auntie Judy gave me some crayola, I spend hours seating at my table to draw.

18 months and still cute

I am progressing well with my language skills and can say loads of words in Chinese, French and English. I am also going to playgroups twice a week and start to make some friends. Here are a couple of recent pics.

Holiday in Corsica

In July, I spent a week in Corsica with all my cousins. I haven't seen them since Papa and Maman's wedding. We had lots of fun together. I can't wait to see them again. Maybe for Christmas.

15 months and a real toddler

A nap on the beach

This afternoon in Cheung Sha Beach, it was too hot to stay under the sun. So we had a little family nap under the tree during which I decided to meditate... Ohmmmmmmm

May 2008 - our new flat

We moved a month and a half ago in Discovery Bay and we are all settled now. Here is a slideshow with pictures of the flat before renovation, during renocation and after renovation. If you want to see the slideshow in large, double click on it and click "slideshow" on the right hand side menu.

Rugby 7s - a weekend at HK stadium

Last weekend we went to the Hong Kong stadium to watch some rugby. For once Papa was not on the field so he could explain to me the rules of the game. I am still not quite sure I get it but I know I would like to play because I love all the games with balls. Besides watching rugby, there were plenty of nice music between the games so I could practice my dance moves.... AND... I tasted beer for the first time and I love it.

Easter weekend

I couldn't stop playing with the balloons from my birthday party. And I got my first train from Mam (my French grandmother). Tchou tchou...

My First birthday Party

One year - A new flat - I walk

So much is happening this week: we have just moved in our new flat in Discovery Bay and we have celebrated yesterday my first year anniversary. I tasted chocolate for the first time and understand now why Papa is so crazy about it. The other big news is that I start walking. I was already doing 3 to 4 steps in the old flat and I am now doing 5 to 6. Watch me walking in our new flat in the video.

The Flower market

On Chinese New Year's eve, there was a big flower market in Victoria parc. We went to visit it with Mummy and Daddy and brought some flowers back home. The weather was quite cool so I wore my nice bonnet.

Sunday in Ocean Park

Last weekend we went to Ocean Park. I discovered a lot of animals I have never seen before. Some seals, dolphins, sharks, rays, turtles, jelly fishes and other fish species. I can't wait to go back.

Best Wishes for the New Year 2008

Christmas in Hong Kong

I am spending my first Christmas in Hong Kong.
After attending the Christmas mass where I got blessed by the priest, we came back home for dinner and I was alowed to open my gifts. Daddy couldn't wait until the 25th!
We then had a feast thanks to oncle Hubert who had sent us a box of french delicacies. On the 25th we went to uncle Eddie's place in Discovery Bay where I had some more gifts and we had some more food - Daddy remember the delicious brownies from auntie Nina . We then spent the night at grandma's and continued celebrating Christmas on the 26th with another family lunch. But no more gift though. We spent the afternoon at the beach where we took this lovely family picture. By the way, you can see our new house in the background - we are moving to Discovery Bay in March.

9 months old

I am nine months old today - and I have six teeth and a head full of curly red hair! Pretty wild really.

My 8th month

I love my rainbow pyjamas.......
and the camera too!

8 months and 5 teeth

Times fly, a year ago I wasn't even here and now I am crawling everywhere and making so many people happy when smile and laugh. I am 8 months today. Here is what I have learned so far:
- I am standing up on each piece of furniture that comes in my way
- I am imitating the sioux waving my hand on my mouth: AaAaAaAa
- I open and close my hand repeatedly (waving bye bye)
- I laugh uncontrolably when Daddy bite or blow on my tummy
- I shout very loud when I want attention - mum is deaf now
- I know how to turn up the volume of the hi-fi
- I love the song "old macdonald had a farm"
- I start to be scared of strangers
- I want to hold the spoon when somebody feeds me
Tonight mummy and daddy have a break, I am sleeping at my grandmother's place.

Two more teeth

I am gonna have a million dollar smile soon. I have got two more white shiny teeth. I like sharpening them on daddy's fingers, it makes him scream loud and makes me laugh a lot. I also had my first black eye this week by falling on my forehead, it's fun to play stunt but it hurts. Ok gotta go, it's bath time and my rubber ducks are waiting...

KPHTH - September 2006

Kalimera! (this means good morning in Greek)

Today I am bringing you back to the Island of Crete (KPHTH) where the sun shines bright, the olives taste good and the people are happy!

Enjoy!

Santorini continued

Santorini is a very sunny place and the people there are very friendly with me. With mummy and daddy we admired the caldera as we walked up and down inside what looks like a giant postcard with white houses, colourful roofs against a clear blue sky. Look how this church is beautiful against the clear blue sky!

See the slideshow in the post below.

Sunny Santorini

During our stay in beautiful Santorini, my two front teeth have decided to come out. They are super white and it feels funny having them inside my month. I am looking forward to teeth coming out as it makes me feel so grown up! I have also started to eat other foods than formula - purees of fruits and veggies, I just can't get enough of them!

Away on vacation 13th to 30th September 2007

I hope my fans have not been too disappointed for not hearing from me recently - well, I have been away on holidays with mummy and daddy in beautiful Greece. We had a fabulous time there. Be sure to come back here soon as more updates will be posted on our vacation as soon as I get over my jetlag. I am still a little time-confused now! Meanwhile, here's me enjoying a relaxing afternoon in beautiful Santorini.

The 4th month outside - le film

19th August 2007 - sneezing and coughing competition

Mummy and daddy joined me in the sneezing and coughing competition, so did Grandma and auntie Judy. I guess I have kinda started a new family event. Everyone is doing it now, but they don't seem to be enjoying it at all, I wonder why........... I thought it's rather funny watching them!

12th August 2007 - Typhoon weekend

Last friday I went and played at grandma and auntie Judy's place. Then that afternoon a Typhoon named Pabuk visited Hong Kong so I had to spend the night at their place. Grandma's bed is very comfortable, I slept so well that night. The next day mummy and daddy came to bring me home. It was still raining a lot. So we spend most of the weekend indoors, no hiking for us, too bad. I don't know why but I suddenly feel very tired and my nose is running, my face is itchy and i cough a lot. Mummy said that I have caught a cold and I don't feel like doing anything at all. Daddy gave me a hot bath and immediately I feel a whole lot better.

5th August 2007 - My frist swim

I had my first swim today and it was so much fun! I did not use any floaties, mummy and daddy helped me and I splashed around and kicked a lot! It's like I am in a bathtub except that the pool is a lot larger so I could move around freely like a fish.

Meeting cousin Jessica

I love my cousin Jessica, she is very funny and she knows how to do Tai Chi. I also met auntie Kely today as well, she's very kind to me and it made me feel so special. It's cool to hang out with them!

29th July 2007 - A day in Shek O

Today we visited Marin, the new born little brother of Zoe - who is only 2 weeks old. As I am a whole lot older, I got to be up on the rooftop with all the others while Marin stayed in his bed downstairs. It was the first time I have ever been to Shek O.
Auntie Julie and Uncle JB has a great big swimming pool with loads of toys all for Zoe, unfortunately, I was too young to go in but as it was so very hot Mummy and Daddy stripped me down to just my nappies. Zoe and Arthur were more lucky as they got to run around completely naked. I had so much fun it was such a great day out!

Daddy and I

My daddy is a big strong man, but he manages to give me the most gentle kisses ever. Every time he does that, I surrender completely to Daddy!

25th July 2007 - Mummy and I

Today mummy took half a day off to be with me. She gave me a massage after my bath in the morning - I love it, it's so relaxing. Then we went to the swimming pool together with Grandma and Auntie Judy, who taught me to "give her five".

24th July 2007 - Morning hikes

Since a couple of days ago, mummy and daddy have been bringing me on a hike early in the morning before they go to work. We start at the top of Tin Hau Temple Road and climb up Braemer Hill on a circuit of Sir Cecil's ride. The air is fresh and the sun is warm on my face. We get some cool breeze in the mountains too. There is a beautiful waterfall on the way in front of which we stop and take a snack. I enjoy listening to the birds sing. I am leading the hike by staying ahead of daddy, while mummy follows. I don't walk myself of course - it's daddy who is doing all the walking for me - I just sit in the baby carrier enjoying the scenery ahead while munching on the top flap of the baby carrier, really tasty.

Bubble maker - that's me

My recent favourite hobbies:

1. razzberries
2. bubble making

I can sometimes do both at the same time too!

18th July 2007 - 4 months

I am 4 months old today. I can hold my head up very well. I can fall asleep by myself. I don’t cry when I wake up in the morning and I sleep through the nights, well, except last night but it doesn’t count, I was too excited - it’s my 4 month anniversary today.

11 July – Back in Hong Kong

It’s been 2 weeks since we got back into Hong Kong after my parents' French wedding. I didn’t get the chance to write on my blog because I am not allowed yet to use the computer, Daddy has been very busy with work since his company has been acquired by a listed company and Mummy forgot the password of my blog.
The wedding was great, I was not allowed in the church but I was there at the coktail and got my pictures taken many times. The holidays in France was also an occasion for me to meet Mam and Granpa, aunty Ariane and uncle Hubert, uncle Damien and aunty Pascale and all my 7 cousins.
Have a look at the pictures of the wedding, there are plenty of me !

18 May 2007 – 2 months

I am talking a lot and smiling a lot. Well, kinda.
At least I am trying hard…

4 May 2007 – 6 weeks

Daddy went to vote today for the second round of the French presidency elections, then we had lunch the three of us in the Hong Kong Park where Daddy and Mummy got married. The manager of the restaurant recognised us and was so happy to meet me. She gave us free desserts and free drinks. Unfortunately, Mum and Dad ate them all by themselves. All I could have was milk.

18th April - One month old

That's it, I am one month old. I am officially not a new born anymore - anyway I could never fit into new born size clothes. Mummy and I will start to receive visitors. We followed strictly the Chinese rule for the first month: stay home and no visits so mummy can recover and I can built my immune system. The only exception being that mummy did wash her hair. I will post the pictures of my visitors that you can view by clicking the link under My pictures on the right. I also would like to thank you all for your comments on my blog, I hope we will meet soon. Come and pay me a visit.

13th April 2007 - Day 26

My daddy recently loves concentrating on a white machine and especially watching a programme called Les Guignols. So I have been spending quite a bit of time in daddy's arms in the middle of the night listening to these programmes. It's cool, spending time with daddy, just hanging out between the boys.

25th March 2007 - One week already

This morning is my eighth morning. It has been a week now since I was born. So much happened in this past week. Thank you all for your compliments and the messages of support you gave to my parents. They are quite tired by now so today we take a rest. It is just the three of us. It is the first time we spend an entire day by ourselves and it feels good. So much quiteness, tenderness and love. We are bonding as a family and our love is growing.
Daddy had the time to take some more pictures of me, check them out. I am cute!

24th March 2007 - My Chinese name

Today I am more complete, I have a Chinese name.
My grandmother Sandy choose it for me.
My name is Fai Sing, Artus Fai Sing.

It was evening and it was morning, a seventh day

23 March 2007 - We are improving

By now, everybody has almost mastered his/her tasks.
Thanks to tante Ariane's professional advice, I get more to eat and daddy stops hitting me for ages to get a burb out of me. I am so happy that I start to make faces which looks like smiles, each time I am in daddy's arms so he can't capture it on picture to share with you yet.
We went back to the hospital for a routine check and everything is fine, except that daddy misplaced my nappy and all my clothes were wet.
Tommorrow I am celebrating my 1st week anniversary.
It was evening and it was morning, a sixth day

22 March 2007 - We are getting organised

For our new life at home, I have distributed some tasks to everyone:

-Mummy: recovering from the cesarean, breast-feeding
-Daddy: changing nappies, bottle feeding, cuddling and singing
-Artus: eating, sleeping, crying, pooing, peeing (a king's name deserves a king's life)
-Nanny: grocery shopping, cooking, laundry

It was evening and it was morning, a fifth day.

21 March 2007 - We are a family

That's it. We are the three of us at home for good now.
Both mummy and daddy are very tired today, what's going on? Feeding me and changing my diapers didn't seemed that difficult to the nurses. I spent the night in mummy and daddy's room, most of the time in daddy' arms, mummy is still in discomfort from the cesarean. I cried a bit, I have a lot of gas in my stomach.
In the morning mummy and daddy were so glad to see my nanny Marilyn, they rested while she took care of me.
The day pass very quickly, I sleep and I don't cry. I keep my crying for the night, but don't tell them ;-)
It was evening and it was morning, a fourth day

20 March 2007 - Going home

Today we are going home.
I don't like the hospital, it is very noisy with a symphonie of babies crying, but I am very curious, what is waiting for me outside?
I met some new faces today, my grand-mother Sandy and my auntie Judy came for lunch and my nanny Marilyn came to help daddy bringing me and mummy home. It starts to be difficult to recognise everyone but I don't mind, everybody is so nice to me. The doctor came to take mummy's temperature. Mummy doesn't want to stay one more night so she cheats on her temperature's reading.
Finally, we are home for diner. Home sweet home. What a nice room, everything is ready for me. I feel like a prince! Well, they had nine month to get ready, they had better set everything up.
It was evening and it was morning, a third day

19 March 2007 - My second day

Today I am very excited, I will meet mummy. The nurses moved me out from the incubator to put me in a bed. It feels a bit cooler than in the incubator and much cooler than inside mummy, anyway they wrapped me well in a blanket and I am adapting quite well. At 2pm mummy and daddy came to pay me a visit. Unfortunately I was asleep. Later in the afternoon I left the observation ward to go down few floors and stayed with mummy, she finally took me in her arms and I felt so good. Daddy joined us after work and finally we were the three of us. That was the happiest day of my life... so far!
It was evening and it was morning, a second day.

18 March 2007 - My very first day

I came out in the morning of the 18th day of March 2007, after nine long months, I was eager to meet mummy and daddy after hearing them so much talking to me. I saw mummy very briefly and then they took me away but fortunately daddy was waiting for me outside the operation theater.
I spent this first day inside an incubator and didn't see mummy. Daddy came to visit few times and told me they both love me very much and that we would soon be reunited - I was impatient. The nurses took good care of me and I slept a lot to recover from the long delivery.
It was evening and it was morning, one day.

16 September 2006 - My parents' wedding in HK

This was before I was born, but I was already in Mummy's tummy So I was also there in a way but you won't see me on any of the beautiful pictures taken by uncle Hubert.
